Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek circles the world’s eighth-highest mountain, Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), offering a remote and less-crowded Himalayan experience. The trek passes through lush subtropical forests, alpine meadows, traditional Gurung and Tibetan villages, and spectacular landscapes of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys. This journey combines natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventure, making it one of Nepal’s most authentic trekking experiences.

Itinerary

    • Accommodation:

    • Altitude:

       1,350M

    • Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu.
      Evening: Trek briefing and preparation.

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Altitude:

       900M

    • Early morning drive along the Prithvi Highway, following the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki Rivers. Pass through Arughat and Soti Khola before reaching Machha Khola, a riverside village.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Altitude:

       1,340M

    • Cross the Machha Khola and follow the river through forested hills and small settlements. Pass Khorlabesi and the natural hot springs at Tatopani before reaching Jagat, the entrance to the Manaslu Conservation Area.
       

    • Accommodation:

    • Altitude:

       1,860M

    • Walk through rocky trails, cross several suspension bridges, and pass through charming villages like Salleri and Sirdibas. Continue to Philim and then to Deng, a small Gurung village.

       2,630M

    • Follow the trail through dense forests and cross the Budhi Gandaki several times. The trail gradually ascends, offering glimpses of snow-capped peaks. Reach Namrung, a beautiful village with monasteries and mani walls.

    • Altitude:

       3,180M

    • Climb steadily through alpine forests and pastures. Enjoy views of Manaslu (8,163 m) and Ganesh Himal. Visit monasteries along the way before reaching the picturesque village of Lho.

       3,530M

    • A gradual ascent through forests and past mani walls leads to Samagaon, the largest village in the region. Explore the traditional Tibetan-style houses and admire close views of Manaslu.
       

    • Accommodation:

    • Take a rest day to acclimatize. Optional hikes:

      • Visit Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m) – full-day hike

      • Visit Pungyen Gompa (3,870 m) – half-day hike with great views of the glacier.

    • Altitude:

       3,860M

    • A short, easy trek through yak pastures and sparse vegetation. The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River to the Tibetan border village of Samdo.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Optional hike to the Tibetan border viewpoint or a rest day to prepare for the high pass. Enjoy spectacular mountain panoramas and learn about the local lifestyle.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Altitude:

       4,460M

    • Gradual ascent through barren landscapes with views of the Larkya Glacier. Dharmasala (also known as Larke Phedi) is the last stop before crossing the high pass.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Early morning climb to Larkya La Pass, the highest point of the trek. Enjoy breathtaking views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. Then descend steeply to Bimthang.

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at lodge.

    • Altitude:

       2,300M

    • Descend through rhododendron and pine forests with beautiful views of Manaslu and Lamjung Himal. Pass through the village of Gho before reaching Tilije.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at Hotel or Lodge.

    • Short trek to Dharapani, where the Manaslu trail meets the Annapurna Circuit. From here, take a jeep or local vehicle to Besisahar.
       

    • Accommodation:

       Overnight at hotel.

    • Drive back to Kathmandu through scenic countryside. Free evening for shopping or relaxation.
       

    • After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

    • Porter service (1 porter per 2 trekkers; carries up to 20 kg total).
