Overview

The Ghorepani-Poon Hill Trek is one of the most popular and accessible trekking routes in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This journey takes you through picturesque villages, lush forests, and offers breathtaking views of some of the most spectacular mountains in the Himalayas. The highlight of the trek is the sunrise from Poon Hill, providing stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs.

Itinerary

    • Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel. Take time to rest after your flight. You may explore nearby streets and prepare for the trek ahead. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

    • Drive or take a short domestic flight to Pokhara. Check into your hotel and enjoy the beautiful Phewa Lake, with mountain views in the distance. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

    • Drive to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. Begin trekking through farmland, rivers, and small villages, gradually climbing to Tikhedhunga. Overnight stay in Tikhedhunga.

    • Climb steadily through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Pass through Ulleri, a village known for its long stairway climb. Reach Ghorepani by late afternoon. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

    • Wake up early to hike to Poon Hill for spectacular sunrise views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare. After enjoying the panorama, descend and continue trekking through forests to Tadapani. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

    • Descend through rhododendron forests and enjoy the scenic trails. Pass small villages before reaching the charming Gurung village of Ghandruk. Overnight stay in Ghandruk.

    • Descend to Nayapul through farmland and forests. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara. Spend the evening relaxing by Phewa Lake. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

    • Free day in Pokhara. Optional activities include boating on Phewa Lake, visiting Devi’s Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, or Sarangkot viewpoint. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

    • Return to Kathmandu by road or domestic flight. Check into your hotel and enjoy a last evening in the capital. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

    • After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home. End of services.
